First and foremost is the research calendar, shown below. These dates were designated to balance the time needed to collect and vet research ideas against the required submittal dates to NCHRP. Please be patient during this first year, as we expect to improve the process as we go. These same dates apply to RTSMO, Freeway Ops, and any other interested TRB committees intending to coordinate on operations research ideas via ROPS . July 1 – deadline to have ideas submitted into ROPS July 12 – communication out to members to rank research ideas by the end of July August 5-12 – Galen/Scott review initial rankings, notify leadership of CTSO/RTSMO of preliminary rankings August 26 – Finalize rankings at CTSO annual meeting in Jackson, Wyoming To underscore, research ideas should be submitted into ROPS by July 1 for consideration for the next round of NCHRP research funding.
